Hi,

My name is Esteban Herevia Jr., he/they.

I have had the privilege of leading organizations and working with communities across Eastern Washington to advance equity and to develop environments of affirmation and belonging for the last four years.

While I am beyond grateful for the places and spaces I occupy now, where my story starts isn’t glamorous or note-worthy. As much as I wish it starts in celebration, my journey towards my full self begins with pain and violence.

I am grateful to be at a stage of life where I can reflect on my start and can connect my experience to my why. I am here so that our stories may heal us and lead us back home to places where we are known, valued, loved and where we belong.

Herevia is a champion of “encouraging people to listen to these stories, to hold them with dignity—and then to act on them. That’s what’s important.”
